The deadline for the submission of nominations has now passed. The shortlist will be announced around 22nd February 2017. 

  • Car Club categories 
  • Cherished Car categories AND Car Club Display awards (these awards will be judged LIVE at the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show on Friday 31st March and Saturday 1st April)
  • Devoted Member categories – these are awards for Individual Personalities demonstrating passion for the work of their Car Club 
  • The Special Recognition Awards will be selected by the Judges and will be presented on the night of 1st April 2017.

NEW for 2017!  For the first time not only will the Winners be announced, but those who are Highly Commended for their entries will also be acknowledged at the Awards ceremony.

Car Club categories

National Car Club of the Year | Sponsored by Lancaster Insurance - This award will be given to the UK’s top car club who has demonstrated outstanding member initiative/s and engagement over the last year. These initiatives may include a dramatic growth in members, some amazing events, runs or rallies, or even charitable endeavours that have raised money or given time for various causes.

Outstanding Club Magazine of the Year (Printed) - This award will be given to the car club whose magazine has demonstrated the most innovation and creativity as well as increases in circulation, readership and importantly exemplary editorial quality. 

Outstanding Use of Social Media | Sponsored by Lancaster Insurance - This award will be given to the car club whose use of social media is demonstrating community leading engagement with their members. Judges will also look at quality of content, increases in followers and likes, clever use of # Tags and trending. All major platforms are eligible including but not limited to) Facebook, Twiter, Instagram, Pinterest.

Outstanding Website of the Year - This award will be given to the car club whose website is leading the way in terms of design, ease of use and functionality, imagery and overall innovation.

Outstanding Car Club Event (including Run or Rally) | Sponsored by Classic Car Weekly - This award will be given to the car club that has organised truly great events, runs or rallies. The Judges will look at innovation, themes, venues, routes, the purpose, participation, achieved objectives, social initiatives, member support and overall organisation.

Outstanding Support of Next Generation | Sponsored by FBHVC - This award will be given to the car club who is demonstrating leadership in the recruitment and support of the next generation. Judges will be looking at how the next generation are being inspired, attracted to join and then engaged by the club in its activities. Support, education and bringing on young enthusiasts will be looked at. 

 

Cherished Car categories AND Car Club Display awards

These awards will be judge on site during the show on Friday 31st March and Saturday 1st April 2017.

Best Car Club Display and Exhibition Stand (under 75 square metres) - This award will be given to the car club that presents an open and inviting stand design encouraging visitors to come and explore the cars on display. The Judges will look at style, accessibility and the overall welcoming nature of the stand and the welcome given to visitors from staff on the stand, as well as the observed responses from visitors.

Best Car Club Display and Exhibition Stand (over 75 square metres) - This award will be given to the car club that presents an open and inviting stand design encouraging visitors to come and explore the cars on display. The Judges will look at style, accessibility and the overall welcoming nature of the stand and the welcome given to visitors from staff on the stand, as well as the observed responses from visitors.

Devoted Member categories

National Car Club Unsung Hero | Sponsored by Footman James - This award will be given to the individual who does a huge amount of work for the club. Often in the background or behind the scenes, this person is a rock for the club and whose thankless energy is essential to the clubs day to day workings.

National Car Club Ambassador of the Year - This award will be given to the individual who is truly a great ambassador for the club. They are always extolling the virtues of the club with a smile, its benefits and community – not to mention the marque’s and models. Having spoken to this person, you come away feeling enthused, reassured and compelled to get involved. 

Tourism Ireland Lifetime Achievement Award - This award will be given to an individual who has made a significant and sustained contribution to their club and/or the classic car movement over many years and decades. Recognising a lifetime of enthusiastic and devoted commitment, this award will showcase the accomplishments of someone who has dedicated themselves to the betterment of their Club, its members and their cars.

 

Special Recognition Awards

Best of the Best Category – National Car Club Winners Award | Sponsored by Lancaster Insurance – the Judges will decide which award winner has the most outstanding entry of all the winners.

Judges Special Recognition Award - this is an award chosen by the Judges and with no pre-set criteria.
