Our commitment to keeping you safe

We're doing all we can to ensure you have an enjoyable and safe Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show, in the easiest way possible! On this page you can read about the changes we have made to help keep everyone safe. 

This information will be updated to reflect the latest government guidelines so please ensure you check back before making your final preparations for the show for the most up to date information.

Face coverings

Mask friendly event icon

Face coverings are no longer mandatory, however the show will be "mask friendly", so you may choose to wear one or not.

Advanced ticket purchase will be encouraged and all complimentary ticket holders will need to validate their ticket online in advance.

Hand sanitisers will be provided throughout the show

Hygiene reminders to regularly wash hands will be in place throughout the venue.

Safer payments will be encouraged throughout
with contactless payments via card or phone, with an email receipt wherever possible. Please note some retailers operate cashless payments only.

Cleaning and Hygiene

Deep clean by the venue prior to build up.

The venue will be fully cleaned regularly including overnight cleaning of enclosed spaces.

An enhanced cleaning regime during show open periods, with extra attention given to high frequency touchpoints such as toilets, door handles and hand-rails.

Food and beverage retail services will be provided in line with the latest government guidance.

Ventilation in the NEC has been reviewed in line with latest CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) guidance. A full check of all ventilation systems to assess its type, condition and capability has been carried out.

NEC Birmingham - Commitment to keeping you safe

NEC have upgraded their filtration systems to ensure clean and safe air is circulated throughout the venue and all areas are supplemented with natural ventilation through the opening of doors and windows as necessary. They have also done the following:

  • Deep clean by the venue prior to commencing build up.
  • The venue will be fully cleaned regularly including an overnight cleaning regime of enclosed spaces.
  • An enhanced cleaning regime during show open periods, with extra attention given to high frequency touch points such as toilets, door handles and handrails.

Information for exhibitors

Passes and registration

Anyone working on the build-up or breakdown of an event will be asked to pre-register before arriving onsite.

Exhibitor Passes will be emailed to you once you have registered, details will follow on how to do this.

Communication     

Show website, social media and emails will supply exhibitors and visitors with the most up-to-date information regarding guidelinesin place at the shows.

Exhibitor manuals will include specific details of what our exhibitors need to execute for the enhanced safety and hygiene measures.

Event signage will be displayed prominently regarding recommended guidelines on personal hygiene and common signs and symptoms of COVID-19.

Public address during the show regarding physical distance and the importance of handwashing and sanitising hands.

Planning your event

While there are no government restrictions in place with regards to stand layout, we recommend you design your stand space with others comfort and well-being in mind. 

What to consider:

  • how your customers will feel entering your stand space
  • how your staff will feel manning your stand
  • how you would feel entering your stand space
  • we recommend you provide hand sanitiser on your stand.
