Jason Craze - 2001 Ford Puma Thunder

Back in 2017, Jason wanted a grey Ford Puma Thunder. He saw one for sale in Northampton as a dealer. It had 60,000 miles on the clock but, before he could get to view it, it was sold. About a year later, the same car appeared for sale on the internet auction site and was now in Nottingham.

“It turned out that the owner was a very good acquaintance of mine. He had restored two well know Fords that appeared in an early 1980s TV series. All I will say is the restoration job he did was very ‘Professional’.

“I had a look around his collection of cars, which included a Ford once owned by Mel Appleby of Mel & Kim the sister pop duo of the same era. I took the Puma for a drive and was very impressed with it.

“After some negotiations, I got the car for £800 under the asking price. I have since had the cam belt and water pump changed, a full service, and the rear bushes changed. It has a 1.7 engine that was tuned by Yamaha.”

It’s believed that just 168 out of the 2,000 Puma Thunders are left on the roads - 1,000 were produced in silver and the other 1,000 were in grey.
