Mick Wallis - 1976 Datsun 330 260C

This Datsun 330 260C is a rare gem among classic cars, believed to be one of just six still on the road in the UK. Originally imported from Australia, this striking Japanese saloon is a testament to Mike’s dedication and passion for classic Datsuns.

Mike’s journey with this car began long before he acquired it four years ago. In the 1990s, he owned a similar Datsun 260C, but despite his love for the car, he eventually sold it due to its poor condition. However, the regret of parting with it never faded, and he spent a decade searching for another. When he finally found this example, he knew he had to restore it to its former glory.

The restoration process was extensive. Mike undertook a complete engine rebuild, refurbished the interior, and carried out a full body restoration. Given the rarity of the car, sourcing parts was a challenge. He tracked down components from all over the world, with packages arriving from as far afield as Australia, Kuwait, Iraq, Thailand, America, and Egypt.

Now, the car stands as a stunning example of Japanese automotive history. Mike says: “It’s a real head-turner, as it is so unique and sought after as a Japanese classic.”

This show marks a significant milestone for the car, as it will be its first public appearance since the restoration was completed, allowing fellow enthusiasts to admire this rare and beautifully restored Datsun.
