Peter Boita - 1984 Lotus Turbo Esprit S3
)
This stunning Esprit S3 was built in 1984 and specified with every factory option available that year, including a unique all-over ‘white out’ paint finish and a lift-out tinted glass ‘targa’ roof panel.
It has been meticulously maintained for peak appearance, performance, and pleasure, always stored in a dehumidified environment. Remarkably, it still retains all original factory labels, including tyre pressure decals.
Featured in Lotus Esprit - The Complete Story by Jeremy Walton, it has also been photographed for the Beaulieu Automobile Archive and appeared in Absolute Lotus magazine in 2021 across nine pages.
Regularly serviced and exercised, as of 2024, it has covered fewer than 2,850 original miles and remains in pristine ‘factory fresh’ condition, consistently impressing concours judges. In 2019, it won ‘Most Original Car’ at the Belgravia Concours and first place in the ‘Post-1980 Class’ at Hampton Court Concours.
In 2020, it secured third place in both the Judges’ and People’s Awards at the ‘Virtual Concours.’ In 2021, it was chosen for The London Concours, representing Lotus, and featured in the British lineup celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s 95th birthday at Hampton Court.
In 2022, it was displayed at the R.A.C. Club in Pall Mall, leading to a ‘First in Class’ win at Salon Privé. Recently, it was showcased at the 2023 Heveningham Concours and Clive Chapman’s Classic Lotus Garden Party. Always ready to drive, it remains a delight for a summer outing!
